Don’t Miss BPA’s Auditions for THE DROWSY CHAPERONE

February 17 & 18: Tuesday and Wednesday @ 6:30 - 9:00 p.m.

Bainbridge Performing Arts is thrilled to present auditions on February 17 and 18for THE DROWSY CHAPERONE, a loving send-up of the Jazz-age musical featuring one show-stopping song and dance number after another.

THE DROWSY CHAPERONE runs May 8, 9, 10, 15, 16, 17, 18, 22, 23, and 24, with a Pay-What-You-Can Preview on May 7. Rehearsals extend March 9 – May 6, 2015. BPA is seeking five lead women, eight lead men, and an ensemble of 4-6 adult and teen performers. All roles are open to audition. A detailed character breakdown is available on our website.

Those auditioning should prepare a one-two minute monologue and 32 bars of a contemporary musical theatre piece. An accompanist will be provided but those auditioning must bring sheet music – clearly marked and in a three-ring binder. Please - no outside accompanists or acapella singing. Callbacks (by invitation) will be held on Saturday, February 21 at 10:15 a.m. – 1:00 p.m.

This ravishing musical is directed by Joanna Hardie, with musical direction by Josh Anderson, and choreography by Debbie Pierce. THE DROWSY CHAPERONE is amasterful meta-musical with a show-within-a-show plot that pokes fun at all the tropes that characterize the musical theatre genre. Winner of 5 TONY Awards (including Best Book and Best Original Score), it is produced by special arrangement with Music Theatre International.

BPA auditions for THE DROWSY CHAPERONE are Tuesday and Wednesday, February 17 and 18 at 6:30 - 9:00 p.m. Auditions are by appointment only, and interested parties are requested to email
