SPRING AWAKENING - The White Plains Performing Arts Center Conservatory Theatre

The White Plains Performing Arts Center Conservatory Theatre
is excited to announce auditions for

Book and Lyrics by Steven Sater | Music by Duncan Sheik

Based on the play by Frank Wedekind

An angsty, rock musical adaptation of the seminal play
about the trials and tribulations of growing up.

Spring Awakening explores the journey from adolescence to adulthood with poignancy and passion that is illuminating and unforgettable. The landmark TONY Award-winning Best Musical is an electrifying fusion of morality, sexuality and rock & roll that exhilarates audiences like no other.

This Winter Intensive will be open to students in grades 9 - 12.
Current college students are also welcome to audition.
Rehearsals will take place 4 nights a week plus one weekend day. Some conflicts will be allowed, however, these MUST be kept to a minimum. Not every student will be called to every rehearsal.

AUDITIONS: Friday, December 5, 3:30 pm - 7:00 pm

CALLBACKS: Sunday, December 7, 2:00 - 7:00 pm

REHEARSALS: December 8 - 21 and December 28 - January 15

PERFORMANCES: Friday, January 16 - Sunday, January 18

TUITION: $475

Please prepare 16-32 bars of an appropriate, contemporary musical theatre song and bring the sheet music, in the correct key, to your audition.



A NOTE ON THE PRODUCTION:

This show is rated R. The script, which uses strong language and covers explicit material, will not be cut or censored. The material will be handled carefully and responsibly by professional teaching artists.
