Looking For: Children and Adult Actors Friday, September 28, 2012 5:30 – 8:30 PM Bible Stories Theatre of Fine & Performing Arts (BSTFPA) Talent Casting is seeking energetic children and adults interested in auditioning for their presentation of Once Upon A Time Shop musical Created and Arranged by Ed Kee.

The audition for the Bible Stories Theatre of Fine & Performing Arts production of Once Upon A Time Shop will be held on Friday, September 28th from 5:30 p.m.-7:30 p.m. at Nannie J. Lee Memorial Center, 1108 Jefferson St, Alexandria, VA, 22314. Those auditioning should arrive at 5:45 p.m. and plan to stay for two hours. There are roles for children entering 1st grade through 12th. Approximately 20-30 area children will be cast to appear in the show along 3 adults. There is no guarantee that everyone who auditions will be cast in the play. The first rehearsal begins approximately 15-30 minutes after the audition. This will be a group rehearsal - no advance preparation is necessary, but a smile never hurts. Children should just be ready to come and have a good time!

Notes/What to bring: Prepare a one minute monologue, and since this is a musical, also be prepared to sing a verse from your favorite song. Bring headshot and resume stapled together. Equity/Non-Equity. Lucrative Pay. Description: The role of Miss Winifred Curmudgeon is cast.

All other roles available. Seeking: 2 adults - 1 m., 1 adult f. Grandfather Clock (GC), adult m. any age. Friendly, wise, warm. A Godly grandfather type. Phineas Best – Owner of Millennium Marketing. Pleasant, but businesslike, f. 20’s to 40’s.

Seeking: 5 children - 3 m., 2 f. Michael, any age 9-14, the oldest child in the orphanage and the “leader” of the group. Very intelligent. An egghead. A little bit of a nerd; John, any age within specified qualifications-Smart, congenial, easy-going. Becky, f. any age within specified qualifications – Generally sweet disposition. Confident. Benji, any age within specified qualifications m. A little impetuous. Quick to shoot off his mouth. From “the other side of the tracks.” Rachel, f. 9-10’ish. The “baby” of the group. Shy, timid, doesn’t speak much. Lots of “aaww” factor for the adults. She always carries a teddy bear.

Rehearsals will be conducted Monday, Wednesday, and Friday (subject to change) at the Lee Center. Although not all cast members will be needed at every session, those auditioning must have a clear schedule for the entire week and if selected, be able to attend all rehearsals required for their role. A detailed rehearsal schedule will be distributed on the Monday following the audition.

Cast members scheduled for the full 3 hours of rehearsal will be asked to bring a sack lunch, dinner or snack. The performances will be held on Sunday, November 11th at 10am and 2p.m., at the newly renovated Old Town Theatre, 815 King Street, Alexandria, VA 22314. The cast will be called for Full Dress rehearsal the evening before the performance. All those cast must be available for all scheduled performances. Bible Stories Theatre of Fine & Performance Arts is a non-profit organization based in Alexandria, Virginia.
