THE HUMAN RACE THEATRE COMPANY SEEKS A “YOUNG PATRICK” FOR MAME

Dayton Theatre Holding Open Auditions for Young Male Actor in Pivotal Role of Blockbuster Fall Musical

The Human Race Theatre Company, Dayton’s premiere professional regional theatre company, is holding general auditions for the role of “Young Patrick” in its Fall 2014 musical,Mame. Auditions will be held on Saturday, August 16 at The Human Race Theatre Company and are by appointment only. The theatre will start accepting audition appointments on Thursday, August 7 by calling Company Manager Kryss Northrup at
(937) 461-3823 ext. 3116.

For the “Young Patrick” role, The Human Race is seeking males ages 9 – 13 with an unaltered boy soprano voice. Performers must be able to sing, dance and act. “Young Patrick” is a bright, curious, adorable young boy who is orphaned and comes to live with his eccentric Auntie Mame. The young actor will also play the role of “Peter Dennis” in the last scene of the musical.

All young actors should prepare a song for their audition, and be prepared to read from the script and to dance. Rehearsals for Mamebegin Friday, October 3, and performances are currently scheduled to run Thursday, October 30 – Sunday, November 23.

AUDITION DETAILS

“Young Patrick Dennis” in Mame
Male. Age 9–13. Unaltered voice, boy soprano. Must sing, dance and act.

A bright, curious, adorable young boy who is orphaned and comes to live with his eccentric Auntie Mame.

The young actor will also play the role of “Peter Dennis” in the last scene of the musical.

Auditions are by appointment only.

The Human Race Theatre Company was founded in 1986 and moved into the Metropolitan Arts Center in 1991, taking up residence at the 212-seat Loft Theatre. In addition to the Eichelberger Loft Season, The Human Race produces for the Victoria Theatre’s Broadway Series, the Musical Theatre Workshop series, and special event programming.
