The Arvada Center Announces Replacement Auditions for Lyle, the Crocodile
The Arvada Center for the Arts and Humanities will hold auditions for its Children’s Theater production of Lyle, the Crocodile on Wednesday, August 20, 2014 from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the Arvada Center, 6901 Wadsworth Blvd., Arvada 80003. Callbacks will be held onThursday, August 21. Lyle, the Crocodile will be directed by Billie McBride with musical direction by Keith Ewer and choreography by Kitty Skillman Hilsabeck. The Arvada Center Artistic Producer is Rod A. Lansberry.

720-898-7200 to schedule a time. Please do not contact the production staff to schedule an appointment. Auditioners must be 18 years of age or older to be considered for a part.
Requirements:
Needed are experienced actors with strong character, vocal, and dance skills. Individuals of all ethnic and cultural backgrounds are encouraged to audition. Roles are non-equity, paid positions. Actors should prepare 16 - 32 bars of an up-tempo musical theater piece and a one-minute comic monologue. Bring sheet music in the appropriate key, as an accompanist is provided. Use of CD or a cappella singing is not acceptable. A current résumé and headshot are required. Actors only interested in the role of Lyle should also prepare a specialty skill of 1 minute or less - juggling, tap dancing, circus or acrobatic type skill or skill of their choice.
Production Details:
Rehearsals for Lyle, the Crocodile will begin Wednesday, October 1, 2014, running weekdays from 9:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. The production opens on Thursday, October 16, 2014, running through December 28, 2014. Performances are Tuesday through Friday at 10:00 a.m. and noon, and various Saturdays at 11:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m.
Lyle, the Crocodile Character Breakdown
Hector P. Valenti - Narrator/Lyle's friend (30's and able to speak in an Italian accent)
Mrs. Primm - Joshua's Mother (late 20's early 30's)
Joshua - Young boy (Adult actor, male or female to play 9-11 yr. old boy)
Mr. Grumps - Character actor (mid to late 30's or older)
Lyle - Non-singing role. Requires very good dance, strong tap, circus and acrobatic skills, drumming a plus but not required. (Male or female)
