Bucks County Playhouse will hold auditions for young performers ages 13 -18 for the Bucks County Playhouse Youth Company for Summer 2018. Now in its 5th year, the Bucks County Playhouse Youth Company is a 5-week intensive training program for students with a serious interest in theater to receive valuable theatrical instruction from working Broadway artists.

BCP’s rigorous training program includes daily rehearsals for a professionally produced production; master classes with artists from the Playhouse’s main stage; and outreach performances throughout the region. Last summer, the Youth company performed for more than 2,800-people — on the Playhouse mainstage and in outreach performances at local libraries, museums and festivals.

Young performers who earn a spot in the 2018 company will participate in daily workshops and classes including musical theater performance, acting, dance, voice, and improvisation, while also attending guest workshops led by working theater professionals. Their work will culminate in a fully produced production of an all new adaption of “Rodgers + Hammerstein’s Cinderella” based on the recent Broadway revival. The production will be under the direction of Broadway and Television actress/director Kate Weatherhead, who recently appeared at the Playhouse in “Ebenezer Scrooge’s Big Playhouse Christmas Show” and on Amazon’s “The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel.”

To Audition:

1. Prepare 16 bars of both an up-tempo song and a ballad (both from musicals). You must bring your sheet music with you.

2. Come dressed to dance.

3. Bring a recent photo of yourself. (Need not be a professional photo.)
