Possum Point Players hold Disney’s ‘Beauty and the Beast’ auditions July 10, 11

Stage Director Jim Hartzell, Georgetown, Music Director Liz Messick, Laurel, and Choreographer Aimee Voshell String, Felton, will conduct auditions for the Possum Point Players’ production of the musical ‘Disney’s Beauty and the Beast’ on Monday, July 10 and Tuesday, July 11. Auditions are at 7 pm. at Possum Hall, 441 Old Laurel Highway in Georgetown.

The directors are looking for male and female actors, 16 years and older, and one child about eight to 11 years old. Tryouts consist of performing one musical piece of no more than 16 bars, a short choreography session, and readings from the script. Singing without accompaniment or along with a taped performer is discouraged. There will be a piano accompanist and those auditioning are encouraged to bring CDs. Disney’s ‘Beauty and the Beast’ will be performed October 6, 7, 8, 13, 14 and 15. Friday and Saturday performances are at 7:30 p.m. and Sundaymatinees are at 2 p.m. Those auditioning should be aware that there is the possibility of performances added within that time period.
