BPA Announces Auditions for AVENUE Q

January 21 & 23: Tuesday & Thursday @ 6:30 - 9:30 p.m.

Bainbridge Performing Arts is excited to announce audition dates for AVENUE Q. This racy, raucous musical is directed by Ken Michels (Santaland Diaries, Shrek, The Full Monty, Spelling Bee) and includes musical direction by Josh Anderson (Saul Tannenbaum’s Claus for Christmas, Shrek, Spelling Bee). Performances run May 9 - 25, with a Pay-What-You-Can-Preview on May 8. Auditions are Tuesdayand Thursday, January 21 and 23 at BPA.

Winner of the Tony “triple crown” for Best Musical, Best Score and Best Book, AVENUE Q is a gut-bustingly hilarious modern musical focusing on a group of unique 20-somethings making their way in the big city, seeking their purpose in life. Although the show addresses humorous adult issues, it is similar to a beloved children's show; a place where puppets are friends, Monsters are good and life lessons are learned.

BPA is seeking an adult ensemble of between 10 and 12 performers to play a variety of characters. All roles are open to audition. A complete list of characters is available online at
http://bainbridgeperformingarts.org/collections/auditions/products/auditions-avenue-q.

Auditions are by appointment only, and interested parties are requested to email
dhadlock@bainbridgeperformingarts.org to make an appointment. The rehearsal period extends March to May, on Monday, Tuesdays, and Thursdays at 6:30 - 9:30 p.m. plus Saturdays at11:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. Those auditioning should prepare a 1-2 minute monologue and 32 bars of a contemporary musical theatre piece. An accompanist will be provided but those auditioning must bring sheet music, clearly marked and in a 3 ring binder. Please no outside accompanists or acapella singing. Due to adult language and situations in AVENUE Q, actors must be 18 years old or older to audition.
