Now entering its 15th year, SCERA’s national award-winning high school company, Acting UP, directed by Kathryn Laycock Little, will hold auditions for its 2013-2014 team on Saturday, June 1, 2013.
Auditions will be from 9:00am-4:00pm and auditioners will need to stay the entire time. There will be a break for rest and lunch.
Students who will enter Grades 10-12 in the fall are welcome to audition, and should prepare 16 bars of an upbeat song, 16 bars of a ballad and a one minute monologue. An accompanist will be provided or students can bring an accompaniment track. Auditioners should also come dressed in comfortable and modest dance clothes and shoes, and will participate in dance and movement auditions.
There will be a mandatory pre-audition meeting for kids and their parents on Saturday, May 11, 2013 at 10:30am in Room 201 at SCERA Center for the Arts, 745 South State, Orem. The meeting will discuss time, tour and tuition requirements, as well as answer questions. The Acting UP season is from mid-August 2013 through mid-May 2014.
Participants must have a signed parental/guardian permission slip before auditioning. You can get a slip at the parent meeting, pick one up at the main office of SCERA Center, or contact firstname.lastname@example.org for more information.
