Saturday night marks the opening of RAPTURE, BLISTER, BURN at Nashville Repertory Theatre. This Pulitzer Prize nominated play written by Gina Gionfriddo marks the opening of Nashville Repertory's 2015-2016 season. Director Lauren Shouse took some time out of her busy tech week to answer a few questions for us about this production of RAPTURE, BLISTER, BURN.

Friday night, Street Theatre Company continued their history of bringing edgy, daring theatre to the Nashville theatrical community. HEATHERS: THE MUSICAL is the latest venture for Street Theatre Company. Based on the 1989 movie of the same name, starring Wynona Rider and Christian Slater as Veronica and JD, HEATHERS: THE MUSICAL could possibly be the darkest, most twisted comedy this theatre-goer has ever seen. With book, music and lyrics by Laurence O'Keefe and Kevin Murphy, HEATHERS: THE MUSICAL takes audiences inside of a typical 1980s high school, with an extreme twist.

AMERICAN IDIOT is about a generation of youth disenchanted with the world around them, angry about things they don't understand, and scrambling to find their place in the world. A post- 9/11 look at America, AMERICAN IDIOT has more rage and love than most theatrical audiences are probably used to seeing.

AMERICAN IDIOT promises to be a different take on theatre for the Nashville theatrical community.

Circle Players has taken on the task of being a regional premier of AMERICAN IDIOT.  Right here in Nashville, the disenchanted youth of Jingletown are coming to the stage. I was blessed enough to get a chance to converse with the director of Circle Players' production of AMERICAN IDIOT, as well as a couple of the cast members. First up is my chat with director Bradley Moore. I wanted to get an idea of why and how Moore approached the upcoming production of the show.

Nashville shows her talent yet again, by way of VWA Theatricals' inaugural production, THE LAST 5 YEARS. With a two person cast and a nearly completely sung through book, THE LAST 5 YEARS follows the relationship of Jamie, a young writing prodigy, and Cathy, an aspiring actress.

Props master Evelyn Pearson is a wealth of information and insight into the set design, story, and props of the shows that Nashville Repertory Theatre produces. In the midst of tech week and opening weekend, she was kind enough to take some time to answer questions regarding the newest production, Vanya and Sonia and Masha and Spike, written by Christopher Durang.

Nashville Repertory Theatre began previews tonight for their last production of the 2014-15 season. When I saw Nashville Repertory Theatre's production of The Whipping Man last weekend, one of the first things that I noticed was the amazing set design. A beautifully designed set by Gary C. Last night Nashville was doused with glitter and love as Kinky Boots, the Tony Award winning musical, opened at Tennessee Performing Arts Center. With a book by Harvey Fierstein and music & lyrics by Cyndi Lauper, it is easy to see why Kinky Boots swept the Tony Awards in 2013.

The Blue Man Group tour has made a stop in Nashville this week. Tennessee Performing Arts Center hosts the inventive show, that is full of eye-popping and mouth dropping performances…or skits….or just a 90 minute, non-stop spectacle. Think I'm complete inept when it comes to trying to describe Blue Man Group? I am. But the Blue Man Group's own website says the show is "impossible to describe."
