One of the most beloved of Charles Chaplin's films (and Chaplin's personal favourite), The Gold Rush is set in the icy wastes of the Alaskan gold fields, and blends action and slapstick comedy together seamlessly. In 1942, Chaplin released a new version of The Gold Rush, taking the original silent 1925 film and adding a musical score which he composed himself. American composer/ conductor Timothy Brock has restored Chaplin's original orchestra score, which he will premiere in Malaysia with the MPO, along with a screening of The Gold Rush.
