ANOTHER ROLL OF THE DICE, from Creators of GUYS AND DOLLS, Will Get LA Premiere This Spring

By:

Los Angeles' Colony Theatre Company will soon present the world premiere of ANOTHER ROLL OF THE DICE, a musical featuring the works of the team that created Guys and Dolls. With a book by Mark Saltzman, ANOTHER ROLL OF THE DICE includes the music of Frank Loesser and is based on the stories of Damon Runyon. The musical will premiere April 16 and will run through May 15, 2015.

Few writers made the streets of New York sing like Damon Runyon. His beat was Broadway, the Great White Way - a dazzling and decadent mile of bright lights and nightlife. As a reporter in the Thirties, he moved among bootleggers, gamblers, hustlers, actors, showgirls, and gangsters. In this new musical by Mark Saltzman (who wrote The Colony's hit from last season Falling for Make Believe), Damon Runyon's mugs and dames, scams and swindles, are once again matched with songs by the great Frank Loesser, the original "Guys and Dolls" composer.

The award-winning Colony Theatre Company was founded in 1975 as a 99-seat Equity-waiver theatre in Silver Lake. Over the years the company was so successful artistically, and built such a large subscriber base, that in 2000 it was able to move into a 270-seat theatre created for it by the City of Burbank, becoming one of only a handful of mid-size professional theatres in the LA area that produce a year-round season of plays and musicals, and that employ actors under contract with Actors' Equity Association.

The Colony Theatre is located at 555 North Third Street, at the corner of Cypress, in the heart of Downtown Burbank. For further information, call (818) 558-7000. Fax number: (818) 558-7110. Email: boxoffice@colonytheatre.org. Or visit our website at www.colonytheatre.org.
