The story of the love of Noah and Marinka. A couple of children, who knew each other through the partition that separated their yards, grew up together and fell in love, but the barrier of differentiation did not allow them to connect - it is perhaps the most beautiful adolescent story written in Hebrew, and certainly the most heartbreaking of all. The story that takes place in Eastern Europe in the nineteenth century and centered on body and soul cravings, betrayal and escape, and above all: the brutal illusion of youth and adulthood, the one that never failed Bialik. The story "Behind the Fence" was published by Bialik in 1909, shortly before his first visit to Israel.
