Breakdown

MELODY DENT
Female, mid-30s – mid 40s. Any ethnicity. An attractive woman, she's a single Mom who has recently lost her job and is, like many, trying to get by. A delightful, warm-hearted Staten Island temp who discovers she has what it takes to be someone special. Maybe she's a bit insecure, but really, she just has to find her balls. And unbeknownst to her, she's about to. Literally. Must be a fantastic and lovely comic actress who has great physical skills. SEEKING NAME Performer – will consider all.

HARRISON BADISH
Male, 40 – 50. Any ethnicity. A rich, successful, gorgeous New York businessman who looks great in a suit; the C.E.O. of Amalgamated Healthcare and totally out of Melody's league. Despite having made a personal fortune from the health care business, he has never actually thought about anyone's health care, or really anyone besides himself at all. Until now. Cary Grant back in the day. Comedic skills a must. SEEKING NAME performer – will consider all.

POPPA SAM
Male, to play 80s. Any ethnicity. Melody's Grandfather, roomie and responsibility, Sam is doing his best to age with whatever dignity an 80 year old man with diabetes, early signs of dementia, a bad heart, phlebitis, back pain, bunions, and many other why bother diagnosing them at this point ailments can manage. But one thing is certain – he loves his granddaughter, believes in her fiercely and would be totally lost without her. Must have great comedy timing and tons of heart. SEEKING NAME performer – will consider all.

ANGEL OF DEATH
Male or Female, open on age and type. Any ethnicity. A harried employee of the grim reaper, with a big personality, Angel gets his/her assignment and carries it out. Unless he/she screws up. Like it seems he/she has done on this one. Big time. While it certainly appears as though he/she has bungled his/her current assignment, do angels ever really make mistakes? Break out comedy essential. SEEKING NAME performer – will consider all.

VICTORIA
Female, early 30s – 40, any ethnicity. Harrison's fiancé, she's an elegant, refined, classically beautiful, high end and high maintenance woman. Harrison wouldn't have it any other way, right? After inadvertently sleeping with Melody because she thought Melody was Harrison, Victoria comes to the conclusion that she is gay. Good comedic skills and versatility a must. Will also play all other female character roles: intern, action news reporter, nurse, etc.

DR. HURTZ
Male, early 30s – 50, any ethnicity. A no nonsense gynecologist armed with a rubber glove and a speculum, he's the one who's got Harrison in the stir-ups. Yes, Harrison. Thinking, of course that it's Melody. Comedy/versatility essential. Will also play all other male characters: Harrison's driver, sleazy bar guy, executive, Otis, Howie Fell, etc.

CASEY DENT
Female, over 18 to play 15. Any ethnicity. Melody's daughter. Needless to say, somewhat hostile towards her mother. Testing the boundaries of Melody's love, or just 14 and hostile? Does it really matter? Comedic ability a must.
