WORLD PREMIERE

About the Play
Edith Wilson finds herself a woman in a man’s world when she marries President Woodrow Wilson. A circle of congressmen, cabinet members and other Old Boys surround the couple, disapproving in equal measure of their love and their refusal to compromise. When Wilson falls ill, Edith, with effortless ease, maneuvers her way around the White House, outsmarting the men who would derail her beloved Woodrow’s dream of world peace.

SEEKING:

PRESIDENT WOODROW WILSON
(Male, 50s – 60s). The 28th President of the United States. Less grim and humorless than he presents to the public. An idealist.

COLONEL EDWARD HOUSE
(Male, 50s). A Texan with a Texan’s charm. Slight and sickly. A staunch traditionalist willing to do what he feels is necessary.

DR. CARY GRAYSON
(Male, Late 30s). The president’s personal physician. Sympathetic and loyal to the President.

SECRETARY JOE TUMULTY
(Male, 40s). The president’s secretary. Irish-American. Acerbic, loyal, a Political animal.

SENATOR HARRY CABOT LODGE
(Male, 60s). Educated and literate. A powerhouse. A realist who is unafraid to speak his mind.

VICE PRESIDENT THOMAS MARSHALL
(Male, 50s – 60s). Rather amiable, despite being kept at arm’s length from the President.
