BREAKDOWN

THE FULL MONTY:

Terrence McNally, book

David Yazbek music & lyrics

Keith Andrews, director

Antoinette DiPietropolo, choreographer

TBA, musical director.

Reh: 12/29/16; Open: 1/19/17; Close: 3/5/17.

Seeking:

Jerry Lukowski :

An unemployed mill worker. 30-40. Jerry is a complex emotional character with serious heart and charisma, and genuine tenderness for his son – a regular guy. Vocal Range: Rock Tenor, with a strong controlled falsetto.

Nathan Lukowski:

Jerry's young son. Age 12. “12 years old going on forty” but young looking for his age. Nathan can be stoic, sincere, and charming, but ultimately real as he deals with his parents' custody battle. Vocal Range: age appropriate.

Pam Lukowski:

Jerry's estranged wife, Teddy's fiancée. 30-40. In some ways Pam has become a realist. She earnestly wants Jerry to be an active parent for Nathan, but wrestles with strong reservations about his character and her own lingering feelings for him. Vocal Range: Alto with mezzo with belt.

Dave Bukatinsky:

An unemployed steel worker. 30-40. He struggles with unemployment and its effect on his marriage. A lovable, good-natured soul, with body weight and self-esteem issues. Must be comfortable enough with your belly to proudly wield it in all its glory. Vocal Range: Lyric Tenor with strong falsetto.

Georgie Bukatinsky:

Dave's wife. 30-40. A warm, down-to-earth soul that isn't afraid to kick up her heels. Her exuberance opens the show and sets the place and mood perfectly! Her reality comes in dealing with her hubby's struggles and trying to hold her marriage together. Vocal Range: High alto/broad mezzo belter.

Malcolm MacGregor:

An unemployed mill worker. 25-40. His frank self-assessment neglects to mention his sweetness and sincerity. Malcolm transforms from desperately lonely to deeply loving. Vocal Range High Tenor, smooth falsetto, C#3-E5.

Ethan Girard:

An unemployed steel worker. 25-40. Ethan remains an optimist while struggling with unemployment and friendship. He energetically attempts wall-walking a la Donald O'Connor's 'Singing In The Rain' acrobatics. He loves simply, and openly. Good physical comedic role. Vocal Range: High baritone/tenor.

Noah “Horse” T. Simmons:

A retired African American mill worker. 50+. Gentle demeanor. Seemingly, his “break-dancing” days are over until he breaks out. Excellent mover with great dead-pan comedy. Vocal Range: Baritone/Tenor.

Harold Nichols:

An unemployed mill supervisor. 35-60. He is a doting, prideful husband who is determined to keep his wife be-decked in upper middle class luxury – in spite of 6 months of unemployment. Aloof at first, his dance skills are what finally brings “Hot Metal” alive. Vocal Range: High baritone/tenor.

Vicki Nichols:

Harold's wife. 30-55. Charming and energetic, she loves Prada ensembles. But, not more than she loves her husband. Flamboyant on the surface, her love and understanding are real. Classy, but easily one of the girls. Comedic triple-threat. Vocal Range: High alto/broad mezzo belter.

Jeannette Burmeister:

The piano player. 50+. She's seen it all. She’s got show-biz running through her blood. You can't shock her, but she'll shock you as she says what's really on her mind! Shows up with a piano to play for the guys totally out of the blue. Vocal Range: Low alto belter.

Teddy Slaughter:

Pam's fiancé. 35-55. The opposite of Jerry – clean-cut, well-off. Singing and harmonies required.

-------------

JEKYLL & HYDE:

Leslie Bricusse, book

Frank Wildhorn, music

Frank Wildhorn, Leslie Bricusse and Steve Cuden, lyrics

Paul Stancato, director

musical director TBA

Reh: 2/24/17; Open: 3/16/17; Close: 4/30/17.

Seeking:

Henry Jekyll / Edward Hyde:

30 - 40. Low G# to Top A. Henry Jekyll is a doctor. His character is driven by the aim to improve the plight of those inflicted with mental illness, particularly his own father. Edward Hyde is Jekyll’s alter ego - the evil portion of the man that is Jekyll – coming into existence when Jekyll tests his potion on himself.

Lucy Harris:

25 – 35. Low G# to Top F# (in belt). Lucy is an actress/whore who lives above a rather seedy drinking establishment in the locks at Camden. Lucy is an emotional

animal, brash and bold but also sensitive with a touch of despair.

Emma Carew:

20 – 30. Low A to Top C! (Lyric Soprano). Jekyll’s fiancée. Emma is the daughter of Sir Danvers Carew and is a graceful, elegant young woman, with

spirit and a joy of life. She is courteous, deferential and dutiful, but very much has her own mind and is slightly headstrong.

Gabriel John Utterson:

30 – 45. Low B to Top G. Jekyll’s best friend, confidant, lawyer and supporter. He is an upstanding man, regarded well by his peers. Serious, somewhat somber attitude and not given to laughter or joviality, but has an underlying humor.

Mr. Simon Stride:

30– 40. Low A to top G. Stride is the Secretary of Board of Governors of St Jude’s Hospital. He is a rival to Jekyll both as a physician/scientist and within their social sphere. A man who was born into wealth and who believes that his status and money should be able to get him anything he wants, including Jekyll’s fiancée, Emma.

Sir Danvers Carew:

50-65. Low C to Top F. Sir Danvers is a genial man, who has no need to prove his standing in society or his influence over others. As Chairman of the Board at St Jude’s Hospital, he had, in his day, been a highly respected physician.

Bishop of Basingstoke:

40-60. Low C# to top G. A man of the cloth. Likely on the board to make sure that religious strictures are placed upon development of medicine. Outwardly, a man of God, however, he has a penchant for very young prostitutes.

General Lord Glossop;

40-60. G# to middle C. Military man. He is pompous, exacting and probably was a paper pusher rather than a fighter. Overbearing and full of his own self-importance. Believes he is an upstanding member of society but enjoys the vices that title and money enables him to enjoy. A bully.

The Right Honorable Archibald Proops:

40-50. B to E. A Q.C. and government official. Busy man, “quick and methodical”, likely equates everything to it’s relevance to the law. The guiding force on the board of governors in terms of what is lawful, so would be quick to quash anything that he deemed ill advised.

Lady Beaconsfield:

40 – 60. G to E. She is mature and takes great care of her appearance. Fashionable and flirts with those men around her. She is outspoken, to the point of rude, and has a great regard for herself and her own self-importance. Very rich and finds the poor disgusting.

Lord Savage:

35-45. Lord Savage is noted in the script as “having better things to do” and those things are probably to see and be seen around town in the best clubs, establishments and company. Titled from birth, he’s used his money to gain status. He is a bit of a dandy.

OKLAHOMA!:

Oscar Hammerstein II, book & lyrics

Richard Rodgers music

Igor Goldin, director

musical director & choreographer TBA

Reh: 4/22/17; Open: 5/11/17; Close: 6/25/17.

Seeking:

Curly McClain:

early 20s. Handsome, likeable cowboy. An idealist, full of hope for a future that includes Laurey. Legit full-bodied bari-tenor (Sustained F#).

Laurey Williams:

age 18-20. Lives on a farm with her Aunt Eller. Stubborn, yet sensitive, she is a dreamer who loves Curly, yet is unable to reveal this to him. Saucy yet legit light soprano (High F, possible high A)

Aunt Eller:

Age 45+. Strong pioneer woman. Her years have brought her an almost mystical connection with the land. Must move. Character alto (Low F).

Ado Annie:

age 18-20. A young woman whose new-found attractiveness has left her both confused and uninhibited. Must move well – dance a plus. Comedic mezzo/alto (Sustained D, sings F).

Will Parker:

early 20s. Cowboy who loves Ado Annie. A little slow on the uptake, he sees only what’s straight ahead of him. Strong dancing role – clogging a plus. Tenor or high baritone (Character, sustain high F).

Jud Fry:

Age 30-40. Farmhand. His quiet and brooding surface hides an inner rage. Angry at the hand life has dealt him, he lashes out at those he dislikes. Ominous bass/baritone (C#).

Ali Hakim:

Age 30-40. Persian peddler who drifts from town to town, selling his wares and wooing the farmers’ daughters, always leaving before he gets caught. Comic role, non-singing.

Gertie Cummings:

Age 18-24. Competes with Laurey for Curly’s attention. Has a rather distinctive laugh that both announces and defines her presence. A little of her goes a long way. Sings with ensemble.

Andrew Carnes:

Age 45+. Shotgun-toting protective father of Ado Annie. A farmer who would even let his daughter marry a peddler, as long as he comes up with the dowry. Tenor/high baritone (Sustained high F)

Ike Skidmore & Cord Elam

Farmers, age 40+. Sing with ensemble.
