Male 40s-50s. Seeking versatile actor to play an abusive freak-show manager and a devout bishop.

ENSEMBLE NURSE/MISS SANDWICH/ PRINCESS ALEXANDRA/ UNDERSTUDY TO MRS. KENDAL
Female 40s- 50s. Seeking versatile actress to play a nurse, a staunch missionary brought to the hospital to care for Merrick, and various high-society socialites. Will understudy role of Mrs. Kendal.

OFF STAGE MALE COVER
Male 30s – 40s. Will possibly cover John Merrick and/or Frederick Treves OR Orderly/Policeman/Duke

Male 30s – 40s. Versatile character actor.

JOHN MERRICK
Role CAST. Male 30s – 40s. Is the main character of the play. He suffers from an unknown disease which has deformed his body, isolating him from the rest of society as he earns a living by becoming a side-show attraction

FREDERICK TREVES
Role CAST. Male 40 – 50. A brilliant up-and coming surgeon intrigued by Merrick’s disorder.

MRS. KENDAL
Role CAST. Female 40 - 50. A kind, free-spirited actress, who travels in high society, befriends and forges a deep bond with Merrik despite his appearance.

CARR GOMM/ CONDUCTOR
Role CAST. Male 40s – 50s. Administrator of the London hospital as well as London train conductor.

SNORK/MANAGER/LORD JOHN
Role CAST. Male late 30s - 40s. A hospital manager, a shady financial dealer, and a porter who brings Merrick his meals.
