Breakdown
ALL ACTORS MUST BE AVAILABLE TO AUDITION, REHEARSE, AND TRAVEL FROM NYC.
All actors are signs as Actor/ASMs. Actor/ASMs are required to unload/load, setup and/or strike the set. No single piece of scenery shall exceed such proportions of height or weight as to make it impossible to be carried reasonably by two members of the company.
ALL CHARACTERS MUST SING! This is a musical based on the popular children's' book SKIPPYJON JONES by Judy Schachner. All MUST be versatile with comedic flair. Also must be able to carry tight harmonies.
Seeking a diverse company. Ethnic performers encouraged to submit.
SEEKING:
SKIPPYJON
18+ tenor, NOT Caucasian, to play our hero, a Siamese Cat with a big imagination.
ROSALITA
Female, 18+ mezzo with pop belt, Spanish dialect a plus, to play feisty Chuihuahua, the only girl in the pack. Ethnic performers strongly encouraged.
POQUITO TITO
Female 18+ Sop with Pop Belt, Shorter than 5’3”, Spanish dialect a plus, to play Skippyjon’s best pal, a boy. He is tough and macho, despite his small stature. Ethnic performers strongly encouraged.
DON DIEGO
Male, 18+ baritone; Spanish dialect a plus, pack leader of the Chihuahuas. Ethnic performers strongly encouraged.
MAMA JUNEBUG/ ALFREDO BUZZITO
Comic character actor, male, 18+ bari-tenor, Southern and Spanish Dialects a plus, to play multiple roles including a mama Cat and evil Bumblebee Bandit.
