Breakdown

All rehearsal and performance dates are in 2016. All roles that are listed as pre-cast have been cast without auditions; * for pre-cast roles, auditioning performers will be considered as possible replacements, should any become necessary.

All actors -- extensive voice and physical practice as well as familiarity with Shakespeare & Company text methods preferred. The right performer in the role is more important than traditional casting and all roles are acceptable for non-traditional casting unless otherwise specified; we seek and strongly encourage participation by performers of all races and ethnicities.


2016 SEASON

THE TAMING OF THE SHREW
by Lauren Gunderson
1st rehearsal May 3rd; runs May 27th through July 30th, 4-5 times per week

A political, slightly absurd romp within a hotel room during a beauty pageant.

30s, conservative republican from GA (also plays James Madison from 1787)

30s, liberal southern hipster activist (also plays Charles Pinckney from 1787)

20s, passionate southern belle & mastermind (also plays George and Martha Washington 1787)

1st rehearsal May 24th; runs June 17th through August 28th, 4-5 times per week

Today, on Florida's Space Coast; the protagonist is a female U.S. combat veteran, recovering from severe injuries.

30’s, caucasion, Jess's older sister; probably beautiful once, sweet and trying hard for positivity, a little overweight now; a school teacher

Early 30’s, an inviting smile that makes you want to live in it; Jess's ex-boyfriend, married now, works at a gas station in their hometown; always says the wrong thing; an underachiever OR Kelvin, late 30’s/40, Kacie's boyfriend, too comfortable in his own skin; happily lives on government disability; clueless, but means well; a slacker

A passionate young man seeks out a famous, reclusive novelist who decades earlier had lost her love aboard an ill-fated ship of Jewish refugees during World War II.

Saquiel Rafaeli
28, a man of Jewish-Cuban descent who is passionate and romantic, has worked hard at creating a unique and bohemian look for himself (also plays Ariel Strauss: A man in his twenties)

Bemadette Kahn
Role has been CAST. 80's who has aged gracefully, more like in her 60's
