Please prepare two contrasting monologues of your choice. A brief song may be substituted for one of the monologues. An accompanist will be provided.

WALTER LEE YOUNGER (Male 30‘s) African American, son of Lena, a disgruntled dreamer, has the potential to be a Titan but his impatience makes him short-sided
BENEATHA YOUNGER (Female-Early 20’s) African American, daughter of Lena, a coming-of age intellectual with teenage tendencies, has a caustic wit
RUTH YOUNGER (Female-Mid 20’s – 30’s) African American, wife of Walter, mother of Travis, pours herself into the family, a peace-maker with a deep well of secrets living inside her
TRAVIS YOUNGER (Male- 10 years old) African American, son of Ruth and Walter, a charming kid who knows how to get what he wants
JOSEPH ASAGAI (Male 20‘s – 30’s) African college student from Nigeria, one of Beneatha’s suitors, confidence in his principles, gentle and earnest with Beneatha
GEORGE MURCHISON (Male 20’s – 30’s) African American, Beneatha’s other suitor, from a privileged, wealthy family, not interested in Beneatha’s intellect
BOBO (Male 30’s – 60‘s) African American, one of Walter’s partners in the liquor store plan, down-and-out, fears Walter and regrets his sloppiness

ESTRELLA (Female 20’s-30’s) Filipina. Servant and confidante, who raised Imelda after her mother’s death, despite being only slightly older than her. Strong maternal, nurturing force with a gentler singing voice.
AQUINO (NINOY) (M 20’s-30’s). Filipino, Rebel leader with righteous principles. Seeking a singer with strong R&B/Gospel voice.
