SEEKING:
[MR. BENNET]- a gentleman, well off, but far from wealthy, smart with a wry sense of humor, bookish and a henpecked late 40s to late 50s.
?[MRS. BENNET]- Early 40s-50s. His wife, mildly shrill, excitable, overbearing, shirks the rules to advance her goals.
?[JANE BENNET]- mid 20s, their daughter, stunningly beautiful, genuinely kind and innocent.
?[ELIZABETH BENNET]- early 20s, their daughter, smart, witty, beautiful, but not as startling a beauty as her sister Jane, strong willed, confident.
?[LYDIA BENNET]-18+ to play late teens, their daughter, a bit lusty, boy crazy, unpredictable, also shirks the rules.
?[MR. DARCY]- mid to late 20s, a very wealthy gentleman, handsome, proud, arrogant, sensitive, observant.
?[MR. BINGLEY]- mid to late 20s, a wealthy gentleman, handsome, genuinely kind, has a humility that is lacking in Darcy.
?[MISS CAROLINE BINGLEY]- 20s, his sister, wealthy, proud, mildly condescending, elegant.
?[CHARLOTTE LUCAS]- 20s, Elizabeth’s close friend, a bit dowdy, not beautiful, a good friend but in the shadows of the Bennet Girls.
?[MR. COLLINS]- Early to mid 30s. Mr. Bennet’s cousin, a clergyman, oddly formal, bookish, sincere but mildly overbearing.
[MR. WICKHAM]- Late 20s to mid 30s, a new militiaman, charming, smart , handsome, cunning – needs to be believably genuine and sincere and then when the mask drops a horrific user and con artist.
[MR. GARDINER]- 40s. Mrs. Bennet’s brother, uncle to the Bennet daughters. More connected, kindly, more worldly and aware of society than Mr. Bennett / doubles with Hopkins, a servant.
?[LADY CATHERINE DE BOURGH]- 60s, Darcy’s wealthy aunt and Mr. Collins’ patroness, proud, observant, likeably crotchety. Doubles with either Mrs. Hall or Mrs. Reynolds.
