Preparation
Singers: Prepare 32 bars of traditional, musical theatre music. If you play the guitar, bring it with you & feel free to accompany yourself.

Dancers: Wear comfortable clothes to move in. Bring book of music in case asked to stay and sing.

All bring picture/resume, stapled together

MALE Singers who dance and MALE Dancers who sing for the ensemble and special chorus parts.


JOSE
20s to 30s. A muleteer. “the runt of the gang”. Capable of violence. Must have strong acting, singing and dance ability. Guitar playing is a plus. May double as Barber. May understudy

QUITO
20s to 30s. the “silent” muleteer. Quiet, but menacing and capable of violence. Must have strong acting, singing and dance ability. Guitar playing is a plus. May double as Barber.May understudy

MULETEER’S
JUAN, TENORIO, ANSELMO AND PACO: Late 20 to 30s. Must have very strong dance ability. Strong acting ability a must, as well as excellent dance and singing ability. These men are rough, virile, masculine and dangerous prisoners. The commit a horrible act of raping Aldonza in a cruel way. Guitar playing is a plus. May understudy.
