Breakdown

Seeking:

BABUR
Male, 25-35. South Asian or Middle Eastern. An imperial guard, idealist, and lover of beauty. He questions the rules and attempts to convince Humayun to go along with his passionate impulses, and though he is aware of the consequences of those impulses, he does not always think them through. Though he often questions Humayun, he highly values his friendship and is almost dependent on him. He has a strong conscience that affects him deeply when he believes he is the cause of harm. Actor should have strong clown and character actor qualities. Pairs almost like a stand-up comedy team with the one other actor.

HUMAYUN
Male, 25-35. South Asian or Middle Eastern. An imperial guard whose father occupies a high position in court. Arguably the more mature of the two friends, he looks out for Babur and often has to rein in Babur’s rebellious inclinations. He respects the rules and knows his place, but is sometimes swayed by Babur’s passion. He is often torn between his loyalties to his friend and to his position. Actor should have strong clown and character actor qualities. Pairs almost like a stand- up comedy team with the one other actor.
