Preparation
Prepare 32 bars of a song in the style of one of the shows

*For RUNAWAYS, sing a song you love (pop, gospel, country etc.). Avoid singing musical theatre songs.

*For GOD BLESS YOU, MR. ROSEWATER sing a musical theatre song in the style of the show.

SYLVIA ROSEWATER
(Female. 30’s) – Eliot’s nervous, attractive, well-bred, and well-intentioned wife. Must sing well.

SENATOR ROSEWATER
(Male. 50’s-60’s) – Eliot’s practical, no nonsense father and the Senator from Indiana. Seeking a strong actor who can sing.

MR. MCALLISTER
(Male. 40’s up) – The Rosewater family’s lawyer and trusted advisor.

KILGORE TROUT/VOICE NOT UNLIKE GOD’S
(Male. 40’s up) – The noted science fiction writer. A rumpled, bearded, tennis-shoed visionary.

MARY MOODY
(FEMALE. 30’s-50’s) The tired, battered, often pregnant resident hooker of Rosewater County. (Also plays BLANCHE, MISS SWATHMORE, NUN & TELETHON HOSTESS). Must sing well.

DAWN LEONARD
(FEMALE. 30’s-40’s) A mousy, shy, washed-out middle-aged Rosewater County woman who dresses like a teenager. (Also plays SUICIDE PARLOR WAITRESS, CAROLINE ROSEWATER & ARTISTIC CONSULTANT.) Must sing well.

DIANA MOON GLAMPERS
(FEMALE. 60’s) At sixty-eight years old, the dumbest, homeliest, and possibly most overweight woman in Rosewater County. (Also plays FILE CLERK, TELEPHONE OPERATOR.) Must sing well.

CHARLEY WARMERGRAN
(MALE. 30’s-50’s’s) Lanky, good-natured fire-chief of Rosewater County. (Also plays APPLICANT #1, ARTHUR GARVEY, ULM, FIREMAN RAY). Must sing well.

DELBERT PEACH
(MALE. 30’s-40’s) An alcoholic derelict in Rosewater County. (Also plays EXECUTIVE, MAN IN SUICIDE PARLOUR, FIREMAN BILL & MAN IN BAR). Must sing well.

NOYES FINNERTY
(MALE. 30’s-40’s) Tough ex-convict in Rosewater County. (Also plays MAIL-BOY, FIREMAN AL, SCIENCE FICTION WRITER #1, FRED ROSEWATER & BUS DRIVER). Must sing well.

JEROME HAYES
(MALE. 20’s-Early 30’s) A not-too-bright young greaser from Rosewater County. (Also plays APPLICANT #2, KID, FIREMAN PAUL, SGT. BOYLE). Must sing well.

PSYCHIATRIST
(MALE. Late 30’s up) A nervous, serious, dead-pan professional. (Also plays FIREMAN JOHN, THE ALIEN, SCIENCE FICTION WRITER #2, MAN IN PHONE BOOTH). Must sing well.
