BREAKDOWN
The play is a comedy about immigration, dealing with a young Middle Eastern immigrant surgeon named Youseff and his experiences building a new life. The play is an ensemble piece written for four actors who play all the parts including Youseff.
Seeking four actors, male and female, of diverse cultural backgrounds, who are good in improvisation, movement, dialects, and characterizations. Plays characters ages 25-35.
Performer A (MALE):
Yuri (Middle Eastern), Taxi-Driver, Patrick (English young radical, filled with hope & passion) and Nick (thick Northern accent)
Performer B (FEMALE):
Yuri (Middle Eastern), Alison (posh English girl), Towering Thug and Doorman
Performer C (MALE):
Yuri (Middle Eastern), Park Attendant, Roger (powerful and blunt middle-aged businessman), Gjerg (young refugee with an unusual accent: London rudeboy + Eastern European) and Brian.
Performer D (FEMALE):
Yuri (Middle Eastern), Old Woman, Australian Bartender, Skinhead, Coach-Driver, Towering Thug and Antlers (a set of antlers).
