Synopsis: A CHRISTMAS MEMORY is an elegant, old-fashioned, musical celebration of a traditional Southern Christmas. A CHRISTMAS MEMORY, set in Alabama in 1933, tells the story of young Buddy who is being raised by three eccentric cousins, and their last, precious, Christmas together at home. As Buddy and Aunt Sook gather ingredients for their "World Famous Christmas Fruitcake"(one that will go "directly to the Roosevelts in the White House!"), we are drawn back into a sweetly innocent Southern world filled with a warmth and emotion that has all but disappeared.
A kid. looks 10-12. A cousin to Sook. Sweet, smart, and sensitive with an active imagination. A young version of the writer.
Buddy’s cousin. 40s/50s. A childlike woman…emotional, full of life and good will, wearing her heart on her sleeve. Note: E (below middle C) to B above middle C, has one high E, which is half spoken, half sung.
Adult Buddy Faulk
30s to 40s. A successful Manhattan writer with a “Southern, poetic soul”, currently at an emotional and professional crossroads. Note: A to high E, has a couple of high A flats, but with ensemble, not as solo notes.

40s/50s African American. The Faulks' housekeeper /cook, with a sharp sense of humor and a strong sense of self..not an urban type. Note: G (below middle C) to high E.
A kid. looks 11-13. Buddy’s pretty, tom- boy neighbor and nemesis whose tough exterior masks a need to connect emotionally with someone.

Also plays Ha Ha Jones outside of town, a frightening presence and the subject of local gossip; Also plays Farley Wood, the postman who knows everybody's business; Also plays Delivery Man.
