Kick off your holidays with City Theater Company, opening their 23rd season this December with La Cage Aux Folles. The hilarious musical comedy by Harvey Fierstein and Jerry Herman inspired the hit film The Birdcage and is one of Broadway’s most popular and enduring shows. Producing Artistic Director Michael Gray directs. Designers Vicki Neal and Richard Kendrick transform The Black Box into the titular nightclub, home to couple Georges and Albin (Paul McElwee and Patrick O’Hara) who perform a successful nightly drag show featuring Saint-Tropez’s famous Cagelles. But it’s off-stage where the real hijinks ensue, when son Jean-Michel brings home his fiancée–-and her super-conservative parents.
