This 2001 update of Michael Frayn's farce provides a backstage look at the production of a silly English sex comedy called “Nothing On.” In each of the play’s three acts we see the staging of Act One of “Nothing On” – first during a flub-filled dress rehearsal, then six months later as the cast’s romantic relationships (and nosebleeds) wreak havoc with a matinee performance, and finally toward the end of the show’s run, when everybody is just ready to be done with it. Stuttering actors, missed cues, balky props (including platefuls of sardines), hidden whiskey bottles, a love triangle and a temperamental director – what else could go wrong?
