mun2, the leading Hispanic cable network for today's young Latino audience, will premiere the record-breaking telenovela El Señor de los Cielos (Lord of the Skies) in Spanish with English subtitles starting Monday February 3 at 7 p.m. EST/6C.

El Señor, which tells the story of Aurelio Casillas (Rafael Amaya), a leading Mexican drug lord presumed dead after undergoing a dramatic physical transformation, was one of the most successful series in the history of Telemundo. The series reached nearly 15 million total viewers during its 17-week run, consistently beating a number of networks, regardless of language. El Señor will air weekly with back to back episodes on Mondays from 7-9 p.m. EST/6-8pm CST, and Tuesdays, Thursdays, Fridays at 7 p.m. EST/6C. Visit mun2.tv/cielos for a sneak peek.

Based on real events, El Señor follows a bona fide Mexican drug lord powerful enough to bring Mexico to its knees by transforming the drug trafficking business, becoming known as lord of the skies because of the large fleet of jets he used for smuggling drugs into the United States. Starring international star Rafael Amaya alongside a stellar international cast, the cutting-edge production was shot entirely in Mexico, and is the first made-for-TV series to tell the story of this legendary drug king who set out to become the richest and most powerful man in the world after the controversial Pablo Escobar.

The acclaimed cast of El Señor includes Gabriel Porras as Marco Mejía, Robinson Díaz as "El Cabo" and a special appearance by Andres Parra of the hit Caracol TV series "Pablo Escobar: El Patrón del Mal."

El Señor is a Telemundo Studios and Caracol TV co-production.
