Bunim/Murray's BMP Latin, a Banijay Group company, and Combate Americas, the first Hispanic Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) sports franchise today announced that leading Hispanic cable network mun2 has ordered 10, one-hour episodes of Combate Americas. Combate Americas is the first Spanish language Mixed Martial Arts competition reality series created by Campbell McLaren, a co-founder of the UFC and the CEO of Combate Americas, and BMP Latin, the Hispanic division of Bunim/Murray Productions, and producers of The Real World, Project Runway and Keeping Up with the Kardashians. The series is currently in production in Miami and will air in 2014.

Combate Americas will follow 10 professional Hispanic MMA fighters as they compete to win a coveted spot in the exciting new Combate Americas franchise. The series will be hosted by award-winning Latin music duo Chino & Nacho and MMA host/journalist Andrea Calle, Urban music superstar Daddy Yankee will serve as Combate Americas' first commissioner and Piolin, SiriusXM host of Piolin Radio channel 147, as the color commentator.

"mun2 is excited to continue to offer our viewers a look inside the sport of MMA," said Diana Mogollon, Executive Vice President & General Manager, mun2. "No one has followed the world of Hispanic fighters through the process of making it into an MMA franchise, and we're proud to be the first with this series from BMP Latin and Combate Americas. It's an exciting series, with amazing stories of the challenges, struggle and victories that each fighter has endured to make it into la Jaula (the Cage)."

"Mixed Martial Arts is wildly popular with Latino audiences. Through our partnership with Combate Americas, we will give viewers an honest behind-the-scenes look at what it really takes to become the best. These fighters sacrifice everything for their sport, and we will be with them every step of the way," said Gil Goldschein, President of Bunim/Murray Productions.

"Combate Americas is the most exciting addition to MMA since the beginnings of the UFC 20 years ago. It was specifically created to present the best new Hispanic fighters and to introduce a whole new audience to this highly entertaining sport," said Campbell McLaren, CEO of Combate Americas.

Executive Producers include Jonathan Murray, Gil Goldschein, Gabriela Cocco-Sanchez, Julio Caro and Melissa Bidwell at BMP Latin; Campbell McLaren at Combate Americas; as well as Luisa Varona, Vice President, Programming, and Margie Moreno, Vice President, Programming & Development, at mun2.

Bunim/Murray Productions launched BMP Latin in January 2013 to focus on creating and producing unscripted and scripted programming for Hispanic audiences, specifically targeting the 18-34 demographic across multiple platforms as well as adapting Bunim/Murray Productions and Banijay Group unscripted formats for Spanish language and bilingual audiences in the US. BMP Latin is currently developing shows with Daddy Yankee, the multi-platinum Latin Urban recording artist, and the Leonardo Lopez family, a successful Mexican-American family living the dream in Encino, CA. BMP Latin is led by Julio Caro and Gabriela Cocco-Sanchez.
