REAL SPORTS goes inside the war to save the African elephant from extinction, examining a sport that claims to be the species' best hope. From the Congo to Kenya to Tanzania, correspondent David Scott investigates the scourge of elephant poaching by terrorists and criminal syndicates who are feeding the lucrative illegal ivory trade. Amidst this carnage, the U.S. government wants wealthy American hunters to stop hunting elephants for sport, while the trophy hunters insist that the money they pay is critical to fighting poachers and is the only way to save them.
