Adam Lambert has lent his voice to an all new 'Open Up' ad campaign for the iconic Oreo cookie, launching today. "It was always this fantasy -- wouldn't it be such a treat to record a song for a TV commercial?," Lambert tells Billboard exclusively.

He goes on to explain that what led him to take on the project was the message of acceptance featured in the commercials. "The mission statement really spoke to me," says Lambert. "They're encouraging people to look at our similarities as opposed to our differences and that is in line with my philosophy."

The theme of the new ads is to open up your heart, as you would an oreo cookie, an accept people's differences, while at the same time recognizing their similarities to you. "We're excited about our new Open Up with OREO campaign as it conveys an optimistic and hopeful message that we think will resonate with all our fans," said Jennifer Hull, Brand Director Global OREO at Mondelz International. "As a brand that inspires openness and curiosity every day, OREO believes that, if we begin to open ourselves up, we'll make more meaningful connections and discover that we have more in common than we think, no matter where we live or what walk of life we come from."
