Tony Winner Jennifer Ehle Will Join the Cast of HBO's 'Game of Thrones'

Tony winner Jennifer Ehle will join the cast of the upcoming HBO series, "Game of Thrones." The show is an upcoming medieval fantasy television series based on author George R. R. Martin's A Song of Ice and Fire series of novels.

Ehle will play the role of Catelyn, the eldest child of the Hoster, the Lord of RIverrun, and his once heir. Ehle will be joined by Sean Bean, Peter Dinklage, Lena Headey, Nikolaj Coster-Waldau, and Iain Glen.

The show will be produced by David Benioff and Dan Weiss, who will also act as head writers on the series. The show is expected to air later this year, with principal production to begin in June. The pilot episode was directed by Tom McCarthy.

Jennifer Ehle received Tony Awards for her performances in The Coast of Utopia and The Real Thing. She also appeared on Broadway in Design for Living and off-Broadway in Macbeth. In London's West End she has appeared in The Philadelphia Story, The Real Thing (Olivier nomination), Tartuffe (Ian Charleston Award) and at London's National Theatre she appeared in Summerfolk. RSC productions include Richard III, Painter of Dishonor, The Relapse. Film includes: Pride and Glory (2007), Kerala/Road to the Sky (2007), Possession, Sunshine, This Year's Love, Bedrooms and Hallways, Wilde (BAFTA nomination), Paradise Road, Backbeat. TV includes: "Pride and Prejudice" (BAFTA Award), "The Camomile Lawn."
