Telemundo Super Series EL CHEMA Wraps as No. 1 Broadcast Program in Time Slot, Regardless of Language

The finale of TELEMUNDO's first ever Super Series™ spinoff "El Chema" ranked as the #1 Spanish-language program in primetime, delivering 2,565,000 total viewers, 1,464,000 adults 18-49 and 656,000 adults 18-34, according to Nielsen. Starring Mauricio Ochmann, the finale ranked as the #2 broadcast program at 10pm, regardless of language, among adults 18-49 and 18-34, after the NCAA championship game.

During its full run, "El Chema" delivered 2,014,000 total viewers, 1,166,000 adults 18-49, and 562,000 adults 18-34, ranking as the #1 broadcast program at 10pm, regardless of language, among adults 18-34, and #3 among adults 18-49. The full run outperformed Univision at 10pm by +21% (vs. 965k) among adults 18-49 and by +33% (vs. 424k) among adults 18-34.

Fueled by "El Chema" during the week leading up to finale, Telemundo ranked as the #1 Spanish-language network in Monday through Friday 8pm-11pm primetime, among adults 18-49 and 18-34.

Locally on finale night, "El Chema" ranked #1 in its time slot, regardless of language, among total viewers in Los Angeles and Miami, and among adults 18-49 in Phoenix. The series ranked as the #1 program in its time slot on Spanish-language networks among total viewers and adults 18-49 in New York, Houston, Chicago, Orlando, Philadelphia, Denver, Tampa and Boston, and among adults 18-49 in Dallas, San Francisco and Atlanta. Telemundo ranked as the #1 broadcast network during 7pm-11pm primetime, regardless of language in Miami, among total viewers and adults 18-49.

On the day of the finale, "El Chema" ranked as the #1 most socially engaged Spanish-language program on all day parts. The series generated 2,300,000 million global native views on Facebook and 202,000 global actions across social platforms (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram). The Facebook page for the series reached 4,100,000 global users on the day of finale. During the full season, the series generated 3,700,000 global actions across social platforms (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram) and 27 million global Facebook video views.

An original Telemundo production made by Argos Televisión, "El Chema" tells the story of how Chema Venegas (Ochmann) got his start in organized crime and rose through the ranks to become the head of the cartel he runs in "El Señor de los Cielos."
