SOFIA THE FIRST Hits Series High on Disney Channel

Disney Junior, Disney Channel's preschooler block for kids age 2-7 and their caregivers, grew over the year-ago week in Kids 2-5 (+3% - 546,000/3.4 rating vs. 547,000/3.3 rating) for the 6th straight week, posting double-digit year-over-year growth in Girls 2-5 (+19% - 296,000/3.8 rating vs. 261,000/3.2 rating).

For the 2nd week in a row, "Sofia the First" stood as the #1 cable TV series of the week in Kids 2-5 (810,000/5.1 rating), Girls 2-5 (468,000/6.0 rating) and Boys 2-5 (342,000/4.2 rating). Along with "Sofia," Disney Junior claimed the week's Top 3 series on cable in Kids 2-5 with #2 "Jake and the Never Land Pirates" (672,000/4.2 rating) and #3 "Mickey Mouse Clubhouse" (666,000/4.2 rating).

Disney Junior delivered the week's #1 cable TV telecast with "Sofia the First" in Kids 2-5 (1.11 million/6.9 rating) and Girls 2-5 (740,000/9.5 rating), and with "Mickey Mouse Clubhouse" in Boys 2-5 (427,000/5.2 rating - tie). In fact, Disney Junior has owned the #1 cable telecast in Girls 2-5 for the 5th week running.

Friday's telecast of "Sofia the First" (on 2/8/13) hit series highs for a premiere episode in Kids 2-5, Girls 2-5 and Boys 2-5 (371,000/4.5 rating). The new preschool series qualified as the most-watched telecast ever during the Disney Junior block hours in Girls 2-5 (740,000). In Kids 2-5 (1.11 million), the Friday premiere was the block's most-watched telecast in more than 1 year - since 11/7/11.

Disney Junior launched in February 2011 with a daily programming block on Disney Channel. In its first year, Disney Junior posted the network's biggest yearly audience in the daypart in Total Viewers, Kids 2-5, Boys 2-5 and Women 18-49, increasing by double-digit margins among preschooler demographics over year-ago levels. On March 23, 2012 Disney Junior added a cable and satellite channel in the U.S. Disney Junior channels in Japan, India and Disney Junior Portugal launched in fall 2012, bringing the total number of channels to 33 worldwide.
