Entertainment Weekly writes that Paul Rudd will return in two episodes of PARKS AND RECREATION's farewell season on NBC.

"He's the world's nicest human being -- and the funniest. We made a list of all the people we wanted to have back and he was high on the list, so we managed to snag him," PARKS AND REC's executive producer Michael Schur told EW.

On the context of Rudd's return, Schur added: "Ben [Adam Scott] needs to fill a certain position and he thinks that Bobby might be a good candidate."

Rudd played Leslie Knope's City Council election rival 'Bobby Newport' -- heir to the Sweetums empire -- in a season four arc.

The actor will next be seen on the big screen in Ant-Man. Among his recent film credits are Anchorman 2, This Is the End, This Is 40 and more.

Rudd last appeared on Broadway in Grace. Before that, he starred onstage in Three Days of Rain, The Shape of Things, Twelfth Night and The Last Night of Ballyhoo.

The final season of NBC's PARKS AND RECREATION premieres on January 13 at 8/7 on NBC.

ABOUT THE SHOW: From Emmy Award-winning executive producers Greg Daniels (NBC's "The Office," "King of the Hill") and Michael Schur (NBC's "The Office," "Saturday Night Live"), "Parks and Recreation" is a hilarious ensemble comedy that follows Leslie Knope (Emmy and Golden Globe nominee Amy Poehler, NBC's "Saturday Night Live," "Baby Mama"), a mid-level bureaucrat in the PARKS AND RECREATION Department of Pawnee, Indiana, and her tireless efforts to make her quintessentially American town just a little bit more fun.

"Parks and Recreation" is a production of Deedle-Dee Productions, Fremulon, 3 Arts Entertainment and Universal Television. Along with Daniels and Schur, Howard Klein ("The Office") and David Miner ("30 Rock"), Daniel J. Goor (Late Night with CONANO'Brien") and Morgan Sackett ("Seinfeld") also serve as executive producers for the series.
