Nickelodeon closed the second week of 2014 (1/6/14-1/12/14) as the top basic cable net with Kids 2-11 (2.8/904K), Kids 6-11 (2.2/432K), Kids 2-5 (3.8/472K) and total viewers (1.7M). The network also posted double-digit increases with K2-11 (+12%), Kids 2-5 (+15%) and Kids 6-11 (+10%).

The network's strong weekly ratings performance was driven by Saturday (Jan. 11) night premieres of its hit live-action roster. Sam & Cat, The Haunted Hathaways and The Thundermans all hit series highs and ranked as the top three live-action series for the week, respectively, with Kids 2-11 and Kids 6-11. Sam & Cat is the number-one entertainment program for the second consecutive week with Kids 2-11 (6.0/1.9M) and Kids 6-11 (7.9/1.5M), posting a series high with the latter demo. The Haunted Hathaways set a series high with Kids 6-11 (6.9/1.3M), and ranked as the number-one show in its 8:30 p.m. (ET) time period with the demo. The Thundermans also posted a series high with Kids 6-11 (6.9/1.3M) and was the top show in its 9 p.m. time slot with Kids 6-11.

SpongeBob SquarePants is the top animated series for the week with Kids 2-11 (5.3/1.7M), Kids 6-11 (5.3/1.0M) and the number-one animated kids program with total viewers (3.0M).

Paw Patrol led the week as the number-one preschool series, averaging a 7.7/959K, followed closely by Dora the Explorer (6.3/786K) and Bubble Guppies (5.9/739K).

Nickelodeon, now in its 34th year, is the number-one entertainment brand for kids. It has built a diverse, global business by putting kids first in everything it does. The company includes television programming and production in the United States and around the world, plus consumer products, online, recreation, books and feature films. Nickelodeon's U.S. television network is seen in more than 100 million households and has been the number-one-rated basic cable network for 19 consecutive years.
