According to Deadline, Sony Pictures TV's proposed BEWITCHED followup series has been secured by NBC, with a pilot ordered.

The series, currently celebrating its 50th anniversary of its debut on ABC, is being written by Abby Kohn and Marc Silverstein and may rematerialize in a newer, more modern incarnation.

Created by Sol Saks and executive produced by Harry Ackerman, Bewitched starred Elizabeth Montgomery as Samantha Stevens, a witch married to ordinary mortal advertising exec Darren Stevens. Throughout the show's run, Samantha struggled to keep her powers in check and live a magic-free life as a suburban housewife and mother, despite frequent visits from her meddling mother Endora, played by Agnes Moorehead.

Nicole Kidman and Will Ferrell starred in a 2005 big screen adaptation of the series from Columbia Pictures.
