"NBC Nightly News with Brian Williams" was America's #1 newscast in total viewers and all key demos for the week of December 8-12, 2014, according to Nielsen Media Research data.

Among viewers A25-54, Nightly was #1 for the second straight week and marked its 4th win out of the last 6 weeks. In total viewers, the NBC broadcast has outperformed ABC by at least 500,000 viewers and CBS by at least 2 million viewers for the 7th straight week.

Season-to-date, Nightly is currently delivering +2% total viewer growth and is having its best start to a season in 9 years (since the 2005-06 season).

Weekly Highlights:

Nightly averaged 9.371 million total viewers, +8% (+678,000) ahead of ABC WORLD NEWS Tonight and +28% (+2.026 million) more than CBS Evening News.

Nightly has been #1 in total viewers for 274 consecutive weeks and in 321 of the last 322 weeks.

Nightly averaged 2.133 million A25-54 viewers, leading ABC by +15,000 (+1%) and CBS by +403,000 (+23%).

Nightly averaged a 1.8 A25-54 rating, tied with ABC and topping CBS by +4 tenths.

Nightly averaged 1.569 million A18-49 viewers, topping ABC by +11% (+153,000) and CBS by +29% (+352,000).

Nightly delivered a 1.2 A18-49 rating, topping ABC by +1 tenth and CBS by +2 tenths.
Growth:

Versus the same week last season, Nightly was up +1% (+72,000) in total viewers.

Compared to 4Q'14/season-to-date levels, Nightly's audience was up in total viewers (+4%, or +319,000), A18-49 viewers (+2%, or +27,000) and A25-54 (+1%, or +16,000).

Nightly also widened its total viewer advantage over ABC by 15% versus the 4Q'14-to-date average.
Season-to-date, Nightly has grown its total viewer audience by +2% (+143,000) versus the same period last year.

Nightly is averaging 9.079 million total viewers this season, leading ABC by +7% (+596,000) and CBS by +30% (+2.108 million).
