NBC NIGHT NEWS Extends Across-the-Board Winning Streak to Month 4

"NBC Nightly News with Lester Holt" was #1 in total viewers and all demos for the week of October 19-23, marking four straight months of across-the-board wins.

The NBC broadcast posted its biggest weekly demo wins over ABC in 8 weeks (week of 8/24/2015) and over CBS in 4 weeks (week of 9/21/2015). On Monday, Nightly delivered its largest single-day demo victory over ABC since 2/26/2015 (+466,000).

Compared to the same week last season, Nightly turned around the demo gap with ABC by 563% (-49,000 loss to +227,000 victory). Year-to-year, both ABC and CBS are down among demo viewers (-14% and -7% respectively).

Also, Nightly was the only evening newscast to grow in the A18-49 demo year-to-year, posting a +2% gain, while ABC and CBS are both down double digits (-17% and -10% respectively).

Week-to-week, Nightly posted the most growth among the network newscasts, increasing in total viewers (+4%, or +282,000), A25-54 viewers (+6%, or +112,000), and A18-49 viewers (+8%, or +99,000).

Nightly has been #1 across the board for 13 consecutive weeks and 17 of the last 18 weeks, and has been #1 in total viewers for all 18 weeks since Holt was named anchor.

Season-to-date, Nightly is the #1 evening news program in total viewers and all key demographics.

Weekly Highlights:

Nightly averaged 8.122 million total viewers, outperforming ABC by +4% (+276,000) and CBS by +19% (+1.307 million).
Nightly has been #1 in total viewers for 23 of the last 26 weeks, and 311 of the last 318 weeks.
Nightly averaged 1.964 million A25-54 viewers, +13% (+227,000) ahead of ABC and +33% (+486,000) more than CBS.
Nightly has been #1 in A25-54 for 13 consecutive weeks and 17 of the last 18 weeks.
Nightly averaged 1.402 million A18-49 viewers, leading +24% (+268,000) higher than ABC and +45% (+433,000) more than CBS.
Nightly has been #1 in A18-49 for 13 consecutive weeks and 17 of the last 18 weeks.
Nightly posted its biggest A18-49 win over ABC since the week of 2/2/2015 and versus CBS since the week of 9/21/2015.
Season-to-Date Highlights:

Nightly is averaging 8.221 million total viewers, outperforming ABC by+215,000 (+3%) and CBS by +1.432 million (+21%).
Nightly is averaging 1.970 million A25-54 viewers this season, leading ABC by +132,000 (+7%) and CBS by 466,000 (+31%).
Nightly is averaging 1.413 million A18-49 viewers this season, leading ABC by +169,000 (+14%) and CBS by 402,000 (+40%).
