NBC Late Night Outperforms Broadcast Competition

NBC's "The Tonight Show with Jay Leno" and "Late Night with Jimmy Fallon" defeated their respective broadcast timeslot competition in 18-49, most key demos and total viewers for the week of Nov. 18-22.

At 11:35 p.m., "The Tonight Show" outperformed "Jimmy Kimmel Live" and "Late Show with David Letterman" in adults and men 18-49, men 18-34, men 25-54 and total viewers. "Late Night" defeated "Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson" and Nightline" in adults, men and women 18-34, 18-49 and 25-54, plus total viewers.

In total viewers, both "The Tonight Show" (4.121 million vs. 3.639 million) and "Late Night" (1.921 million vs. 1.752 million) are up versus last year.

Versus the first nine weeks of the year-ago season, Leno is up both in 18-49 viewers (1.112 million vs. 1.109 million) and total viewers (3.759 million vs. 3.416 million). Fallon is up in 18-49 viewers (801,000 vs. 667,000) so far this season as well as total viewers (1.941 million vs. 1.653 million).

At 1:35 a.m. ET, "Last Call with Carson Daly" is also delivering sizable gains versus the first nine weeks of last season, up in 18-49 viewers (443,000 vs. 371,000) and up in total viewers (984,000 vs. 880,000).

"Tonight" has now delivered bigger 18-49 audiences than "Late Show" for the last 53 weeks in a row and topped "Kimmel" for 42 of their 46 head-to-head weeks. In total viewers, Leno has out-delivered "Late Show" for 56 weeks in a row and "Kimmel" for 46 of 46 weeks.

Fallon has now generated bigger 18-49 audiences than "Late Late Show" for 58 of the last 59 weeks and prevailed in total viewers for 55 of the last 57 weeks. Versus "Nightline" in their head-to-head half-hour, Fallon has out-delivered the ABC series for 46 of 46 weeks in viewers 18-49 and 41 of 43 weeks in total viewers.
