Mira Sorvino to Star in CBS Drama Pilot TROOPER

As first reported on Deadline.com, Oscar-winner Mira Sorvino will star in Jerry Bruckheimer's upcoming CBS pilot TROOPER. The project marks the first TV series for the actress.

TROOPER is written by Aron Eli Coleite and will be produced by Bruckheimer. It tells the story of KJ Flaxton (Sorvino), described as "a common-sense mother-turned-New York state trooper." The pilot episode will be directed by Craig Gillespie, who shares executive producing credits with Coleite, Bruckheimer and Jonathan Littman.

The actresss will next be seen on the big screen in Nancy Savoca's 'Union Square' which recently premiered at the Toronto Film Festival. Sorvino won the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress for her performance in 'Mighty Aphrodite' (1995) and is also known for her role as Romy White in 'Romy and Michele's High School Reunion'.
