Deadline reports that Jeff Goldblum, who portrayed Dr. Ian Malcolm in the original 1993 JURASSSIC PARK film and its 1997 sequel, has signed on for the next installment from Universal Pictures and Amblin Entertainment.

Goldblum will join previously announced returning stars Chris Pratt and Bryce Dallas Howard in the currently untitled film. J.A. Bayona will direct from a script written by Colin Trevorrow and Derek Connolly, who also co-wrote the 2015 'Jurassic' film. Steven Spielberg will executive produce.

2015's Jurassic World earned $1.67 billion at the blox office and became the No. 4 film of all time globally. The sequel is set to hit theaters on June 22, 2018.

Goldblum recently appeared on the big screen in last summer's Independence Day: Resurgence. His upcoming projects include Thor: Ragnarok. He will also lend his voice to Wes Anderson's upcoming animated film 'Isle of Dogs'.
