Jackie Evancho Releases Cover 'The Rains Of Castamere' from HBO's GAME OF THRONES
Jackie Evancho releases a unique cover of the haunting folk song "The Rains of Castamere" from the hit HBO series Game of Thrones. It was debuted on Yahoo.com and is now available via all digital service providers including iTunes, Amazon MP3 and Spotify. The track will also be available on Jackie's new album Awakening which comes out on September 23, 2014 via Sony Music Masterworks imprint Portrait.
"The Rains of Castamere," written by the Game of Thrones series creator George R.R. Martin (lyrics) and Ramin Djawadi (music), has been covered by indie rock bands The National and Sigur Ros - the latter appeared as the official band at the wedding between the late King Joffrey and Margaery Tyrell. The song also appeared in the show's epic "Red Wedding" episode.
On June 12, 2014 Jackie will be part of an elite group of musicians chosen to perform at the 2014 Songwriters Hall of Fame Awards in New York City. Some of the other participants include Jon Bon Jovi, Aloe Blacc, Martina McBride, Roseanne Cash and Miguel.
At 10 years old Jackie gained worldwide recognition after making a stunning debut on NBC's America's Got Talent. She was immediately signed to Columbia Records where she released a string of successful recordings including O Holy Night, Dream With Me, Heavenly Christmas and Songs From The Silver Screen. In 2012 Jackie made her acting debut in Robert Redford's The Company You Keep alongside Susan Sarandon, Shia LeBeouf and Nick Nolte, and performed as a special guest in Cirque du Soleil's "One Night for One Drop" benefit at the Bellagio in Las Vegas. She also starred in the Fall 2012 GUESS Kids clothing campaign. Her broad successes lead Billboard Magazine to include Jackie on their list of "music movers-and-shakers under the age of 21" in 2011 and again in 2012.
