Isabella Gomez Joins Netflix's ONE DAY AT A TIME Reboot

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Isabella Gomez has joined the cast of Netflix's upcoming Latino remake of the 1970's Norman Lear comedy ONE DAY AT A TIME. The actress joins previously announced cast members Justina Machado (Penelope) and EGOT winnner Rita Moreno (Lydia.)

The show will follow "hree generations of a Cuban-American family living together. Gomes takes on the role of teenage daughter Elena, described as "a 14-year-old girl who is in the throes of BECOMING a woman. A proud nerd, idealist and social justice warrior, Elena is opinionated and not afraid to speak her mind. But while she is Internet-wise, she is more foolish when it comes to the real world. She is particularly confounding to her more old-school grandmother, Abuelita Lydia."

Norman Lear will serve as an executive producer, along with Gloria Calderon Kellett and Mike Royce, who will also co-write and serve as co-showrunners. Gomez, whose other TV credits include Modern Family.
