According to the HollywoodReporter.com, Howard Gordon, the prolific producer behind Homeland and TYRANT is teaming with Bones alum Nkechi Carroll to develop a medical drama for Fox.

The untitled drama, which has received a script pickup with a significant penalty attached, is described as a medical franchise centered around three young, brilliant doctors who grew up together in Compton and are reunited at an extraordinary cutting-edge hospital in Beverly Hills.

Carroll will pen the script and exec produce alongside Gordon and his Teakwood Lane Productions head of television Hugh Fitzpatrick. Both Carroll and Gordon are based at 20th Century FOX Television, which will produce the drama.

For Gordon, this marks the producer's first sale of the development season. The producer next has Fox's freshman drama The Frankenstein Code, which does not yet have a premiere date. In addition to Homeland, Gordon is also behind a potential second limited series in the 24 franchise as well as TNT's Legends. He's repped by WME, 3 Arts and Gendler & Kelly.
