According to The Hollywood Reporter, the hit HBO series Game of Thrones has set a new on-demand record for Germany. The site reports that pay-TV player Sky Deutschland recorded 2.3 million viewers for the series on its on demand streaming service Sky Go.

The figure represents more than double the 1 million Game of Thrones viewers that streamed the series on Sky Go in 2013, as well as new record for the German market. Sky Deutschland has a total subscriber base of just over 3.3 million, making the feat even more remarkable!

Based on the popular book series "A Song of Ice and Fire," by George R.R. Martin, the hit Emmy-winning fantasy series chronicles an epic struggle for Power in a vast and violent fantasy kingdom.

Members of the ensemble cast include Peter Dinklage, Lena Headey, Emilia Clarke, Nikolaj Coster-Waldau, Kit Harington, Natalie Dormer, Maisie Williams and Sophie Turner. The executive producers are David Benioff, D.B. Weiss, Carolyn Strauss, Frank Doelger and Bernadette Caulfield, and co-executive producers are Guymon Casady, Vince Gerardis and George R.R. Martin.
