GLEE's Kevin McHale to Host X FACTOR?

TVGuide has confirmed that GLEE star Kevin McHale is currently being considered as a possible co-host for the upcoming season of FOX's THE X FACTOR. The hosting spot was vacated last season when former host Steve Jones was fired from the singing competition.

McHale, who has portrayed 'Artie' on the past three seasons of the FOX musical drama series, had previously hosted a Pepsi-sponsored, behind-the-scenes video for X Factor which aired during last year's premiere. In addition, the 24-year-old recently co-hosted this year's Teen Choice Awards with newly appointed X Factor judge Demi Lovato.

In recent interviews, X Factor judge and creator Simon Cowell has said he would like to bring in a male-female team to host the competition. Other names recently reported as candidates for the job include Khloe Kardashian, Erin Andrews and Kelly Osbourne.

Fox has not commented on the report.

The X Factor premieres Wednesday, September 12 at 8/7c. The GLEE season premiere follows on September 13.
