World War II veteran and Olympian Louis Zamperini passed away today at the age of 97 years old. To memorialize and honor the life of this true American hero, Discovery Channel will be re-airing ADRIFT: 47 DAYS WITH SHARKS this Sunday, July 6 at 4PM ET /PT.

Originally airing during the 25th anniversary of Shark Week in 2012, ADRIFT: 47 DAYS WITH SHARKS was the inspiring true story of two war heroes who survived shark-infested waters in.

During a routine search mission over the Pacific in WWII, their plane crashed into shark Infested waters, leaving them struggling for survival afloat a flimsy life-raft for 47 days. What happened to these men is one of the greatest tests of will, endurance and faith of our time, and it is our hope that this re-airing will serve as memorable tribute to an incredible man.
