According to EW, SNL alum and Rules of Engagement star David Spade will join CBS's upcoming pilot THE KICKER. Spade has been cast in the role of Russ Thorkelson, the "frazzled sports agent" of his brother Daryl.

Tina Fey and Robert Carlock will serve as executive producers for this project, having recently worked together on Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt and 30 Rock. They will also collaborate again with writer Jack Burditt, who is writing the pilot.

David Spade rose to fame in the 1990s when he joined the cast of Saturday Night Live. Since then, he has starred in films such as Tommy Boy, Black Sheep, Grownups, The Emperor's New Groove, and many more. He has also been a part of long-running sitcoms Rules of Engagement and Just Shoot Me!
